Our company “Novatec International” LLC was founded by a group of like-minded persons on March 22, 2022, in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The only goal of the company is for the first time in Georgia, the construction and further operation of an ultra-modern, high-tech radiopharmaceutical facility, for the purpose of on-site production of radiopharmaceuticals.

The radiopharmaceuticals produced by the company will be supplied to nuclear medicine departments of licensed healthcare institutions for positron-emission computed tomography studies.

Project is implemented together with the advanced Israeli medical-technological company Elsmed HSR Ltd, in cooperation with the world’s leading cyclotron manufacturing company, the Belgian IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.).

The cyclotron “Cyclone Kiube 100” from the IBA was selected by our company, which with other state-of-the-art technological equipment, will provide a unique opportunity to fully cover the current and future needs of Georgia, in terms of on-site production and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals, as fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG), as other artificial radioactive isotopes.

The presence of a radiopharmaceutical facility and a cyclotron in the country, will lead to an increased availability of positron-emission computed tomography for a wider population and will only positively affect the quality of medical care for oncological patients. It will also contribute to the significant development of nuclear medicine in Georgia.

The construction of the radiopharmaceutical facility is underway in accordance with the requirements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), manufacturer’s recommendations, international standards and Georgian legislation. All production processes will also be fully compliant with EU GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.

The start of operations of the radiopharmaceutical facility is planned in 2025.
